Lifeguards -
- If you are new to the Islands, it is recommended that you go
to a beach with a life guard present. The Hawaiian life guards
are great and they do look out for your safety. Also, DO NOT leave
any valuables in your Rent-A-Car. Better safe than sorry.

- Follow the sun. It normally rains more on the windward side
of the Islands than on the leeward side. It can be raining at
one beach and another beach can have bright sun light. In Maui,
it almost never rains in the Wailea area. The same for Ala Moana
Beach Park and Waikiki Beach on Oahu. We are talking about normal
days here. If a thunderstorm sweeps through the islands, just
plan to go shopping. Remember, to visit the Crazy Shirts outlet
in Wards Warehouse, on Oahu. Wear a crazy shirt when you go there
and they may give you an additional discount along with the normal
discount. There is a great Hamburger place next door to Crazy
Shirts. Fun place to enjoy Lunch.

- How many honeymoons have been ruin by a sunburn. You must be
very careful, even when walking around. Make sure that you wear
a hat, dark glasses and plenty of sunblock. Start with sunscreen
SPF 15. If this is your first time to the beach, start with SPF
30. Your best prices for Beach items, is the ABC Store, Wal-Mart,
K-mart, Costco or Longs Drug Store. The sun can be very dangerous,
it is best to stay in the shade the first few days of your visit.
If you go out for a boat ride, the sun can be twice as dangerous,
because it reflects off the water. The bottom line is: RESPECT
THE SUN.
