The Salvador Dal’ Museum was opened in St. Petersburg, Florida in March 1982. The museum's history, however, begins in Cleveland, Ohio in 1942, when industrialist A. Reynolds Morse and Eleanor Reese first saw Dal’'s works at a traveling exhibition of the Museum of Modern Art, New York. Intrigued by Dali's fantastic imagery and spellbound by his dreamlike geological landscapes, the young couple were drawn into a lifetime of dedication to the Spanish artist and his works.
