The North Shore's only Casino Resort. Grand Portage Bay has been the home of Chippewa people for generations. Early Chippewa first used the "grand portage" to link their inland winter camps to their summer home on Lake Superior. This 8.5 mile trek along the Pigeon River bypasses sheer waterfalls and ends with the spectacular High Falls. From there, native peoples gained access to the chain of lakes and rivers that led to the vast plains of Canada.
