River Sioux Tribe -
- Home to four bands of Teton Sioux -- Minneconjou, Two Kettle
(Oohenunpa), Sans Arc (Itazipco), and Blackfoot (SiSapa).
It is located in the north central part of the state, comprising

Creek Sioux Tribe -
- The Location is located in central South Dakota. It's home
to the largest massacre site in the United States. Located
one mile south of Fort Thompson is Lake Sharpe, one of South
Dakota's Great Lakes. Lake Sharpe sports some of the best
year-round walleye fishing in the nation. Mailing address:

- Flandreau
Santee Sioux Tribe -
- Located in eastern South Dakota approximately 40 miles north
of Sioux Falls or 18 miles west of Pipestone, Minn. The annual
powwow is held the third weekend in July at the original dance
grounds located one and one-half miles north of Flandeau on

- Oglala
Sioux Tribe -
- The Pine Ridge Reservation is the home to the Oglala Sioux
Tribe. Located in southwestern South Dakota, it is the second-largest
Indian reservation in the United States. Adjoins the Badlands

- Rosebud
Sioux Tribe -
- The home of the Sicangu Lakota Oyate, a band of the Oceti
Sakowin (Seven Council Fires). It is located in the south-central
part of the state in Todd county and portions of Mellette,

- Sisseton
- Wahpeton Sioux Tribe -
- Located in northeast South Dakota and a portion of southeast
North Dakota. It is the home of the Sisseton - Wahpeton Dakota
Oyate, consisting of the Sisseton (people of the fish village
/ peninsula) and Wahpeton (people among the leaves / leaf
shooters). The reservation was established by treaty in 1867
and by the Laramie Treaty of 1868, which formed the Great
Sioux Nation. The Dakota Oyate reside in a beautiful setting
comprised of Glacial Lakes, Coteau Hills, Sica Hollow (original
home for many Native Americans) and the Whetstone Valley.
The reservation features the Tekawitha Fine Arts Center and
Nicollet Tower and Interpretive Center, Dakota Connection,
Dakota Sioux and Dakota Magic Casinos. The Sisseton - Wahpeton
people have an interesting and colorful history and welcome

Rock Sioux Tribe -
- Occupies a section of north central South Dakota and extends
into south-central North Dakota. Dakota and Lakota Sioux reside

- Yankton
Sioux Tribe -
- Located in the eastern two-thirds of Charles Mix County
and are bordered on the south and southwest by the Missouri
river and the Fort Randall Dam / Lake Francis Case. These
waterways create excellent hunting and fishing along with
water sports. Tribal lands are accessible via Highways 281,
